The two stills explain how the narratives link together visually. The top still is of the start and shows how the character dreams his way into the next narrative which is the second still. The narrative again have no link to the lyrics so it is a disjunctured promo.
As well the way in which the Red Hot Chili Peppers video is shot evokes a sense of playfulness and joy from the viewer. This style is used throughout the performance aspect of in the music video as it is entertaining to watch. Furthermore, The RHCP’s video is mostly footage from a performance; this is inspirational to us as our video will also heavily feature performance. Through watching this video, we were able to see how real artists behaved during their music videos to inspire our movement and attitude while filming.
As well, we looked out for the mise-en-scene and location used. This video is shot in a warehouse looking building that is empty. This is inspirational as we will be shooting our promo in a large empty studio; it helped us to know what to do with the space. Again, like RHCP they have filled the empty warehouse with props that can be seen in the promo, they have added things like a stage and everyday items like chairs and tables.
The two stills how the props that they used in their promo, as you can see the props use make it more relatable to the viewer because they are everyday items that the viewer wil come across. This is good for talking to the audience because it says to them that they are a down to earth group that can relate to their viewers.
